Why Plant-Based?

A whole-food, plant-based diet is “centered on whole, unrefined, or minimally refined plants. It’s a diet based on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes; and it excludes (or minimizes) all meat, including chicken and fish, dairy products, and eggs..” (Forks Over Knives)

Countless studies have shown this type of diet not only promotes greater overall health, but can even reverse and eliminate existing conditions that are detrimental to wellness, including but not limited to all of the chronic illnesses suffered by Americans today.

We are built to eat whole plant foods, and when doing so properly, our bodies respond happily and healthfully; losing weight, lowering blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, re-balancing blood sugar, curing leaky gut, starving cancer cells, reducing inflammation, and restoring chemicals imbalances.

Not only is it beneficial to individual health, but eating plant-based also reduces your carbon footprint and greatly decreases your impact on fresh water use, rainforest deforestation, indigenous land loss, species extinction, ocean acidification, world hunger and climate change.
